How to Create the Best Dating Headlines

Ever wonder why some people get more online action than you? How is it that someone who looks like an Average Joe or a Plain Jane can get way more people interested in their online dating profile than you? Do you want to know the secret that will forever make your online dating experience greater?

Two words:
Dating headlines; it’s as simple as that! You might be thinking,
«Wow! Great secret, genius, why don’t you do me a favor and leave»
or something along those lines. But the plain fact is captivating headlines get way more attention than the ad itself deserves. Is this information still not making sense? Read on dear friend, I’m about to make your life easier.

Ever since the beginning of advertising, man has used headlines as a tool to capture and motivate the viewer’s attention towards the advertisement. This principal has worked since the beginning of time and it is very successful today. Dating headlines should be short, concise, and creative. That last word might frighten or discourage some of you; truth of the matter is: deep down we are all creative in our own ways. We are all unique and we all have our own creative style that is unique to everyone else’s. Give yourself a chance and you’ll find out that you are more creative than you think.

5 Tips to Writing Successful Dating Headlines

Keep it short – Keep your headline short and sweet. Nobody likes reading your whole life story in a headline. Keep that mystery locked up and reveal it bit by bit to the person whom you admire.

Say what you feel – However you are feeling, write it down. The truth in dating headlines is not only refreshing but comes out sincere and honest. Sincerity and honesty are two very rare and attractive traits nowadays.

Confidence is key – You’ve heard this phrase thousands of times. It’s almost impossible to give someone confidence by telling them to be confident. Confidence comes with time; do not worry too much about how good or bad your dating headline is, just let it be natural, and DO

NOT over-think it.

Be Creative – Being creative means BE YOURSELF. Be honest and be yourself. Whatever comes to your mind, write it down. I’ll go into this with more detail including some live examples further down this article.

How to be creative

There is a huge misconception about being creative. People think they need to take expensive seminars and pay loads of money for books that will open up their thinking valves and get their creative juices flowing. There is nothing more creative and attractive than being yourself. Some people may be shy introverts; sharing their opinions can be difficult at first, but the more you practise the better you’ll get. Open up over time and people will notice. Don’t be afraid that someone will judge your headline in a negative way. If the headline reflects your personality, then why would you want someone who is negative towards your personality around?

A little sarcasm goes a long way

Some headlines are sarcastic funny. A sense of humor is one of the most attractive characteristic one can have. But if you overdo it, you can become one of those annoying people that nobody wants around.

A sarcastic headline example

“I have no life”
You have to be pretty confident and bold to write something like that down. Most people would get chills even thinking about writing that down. But this is a very intriguing headline. It shows the reader that this person has a sense of humor. It also shows that they do not really care too much about small details that people dwell on. Someone who writes this is comfortable in their own skin, and probably has a very busy life.

Real life example

Here is a true story that happened to one of my good friends. We’ll call this person Derrek. Derrek is a pretty average looking guy, he doesn’t have a lot of money, and he is not very tall either. He isn’t overweight, but he isn’t exactly fit either. Derrek looks like your typical bus driver, or subway employee. The only thing that makes him stand out is his great sense of humor.

We were at a bar one time getting some beers and burgers, it was a guys night out. Within minutes we were greeted by our server. She was a gorgeous brunette with beautiful long hair that would curl into locs near the end. At first glance you would never believe that Derrek had a chance with this girl; she was way out of his league.

As time went by Derrek started talking to her, having some humorous and cute flirting. Being a server at a bar, she was very social and easy to talk to. This combined with Derrek’s sense of humor made it a very entertaining conversation to say the least. Half way through our meal the server would give Derrek a look and a smile each time she passed by. Now there were at least 2 guys that were way better looking than Derrek at that table, yet she didn’t even glance at them.

By the end of the night she gave us our bill and Derrek took it and decided to pay for all of us. We all looked at him in amazement (he is known as being quite cheap at times). He simply said
«I’m feeling lucky today guy, it’s on me»

He wrote a note on the bill saying

«Please go out with me, I am so lonely, please!» along with his phone number.
We all laughed our heads off. Derrek was completely bold and confident to write something like that. The surprising thing is she sent him a text that same night! What’s even more surprising is that they dated for a few months, unbelievable? You better believe it.
If you have trouble creating eye-catching dating headlines, try opening up a magazine or a newspaper and read some of their headlines. These are very successful and they might even give you some great ideas for your own captivating dating headlines.
